AHPAS is a members only health care professionals platform hosting educational material, networking gateways and legal advocacy consultation services for our members.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We collect the following data from users:

  • AHPRA registration number (or other registration number, for professionals not registered with AHPRA)
  • phone number;
  • email address;
  • name;
  • date of birth;
  • address; and
  • other contact details. 

We use this data to:

  • optimise our site;
  • register health care professionals for events/membership services;
  • gather statistical information to better understand the needs of our members and adjust the services we provide to those needs; and
  • verify that our users are in fact health care professionals.

Contact forms

Our contact forms require the following information from users:

  • AHPRA registration number (or other registration number, for professionals not registered with AHPRA)
  • phone number;
  • email address;
  • name;
  • date of birth;
  • address; and
  • other contact details. 

Cookies

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Analytics

We collect standard Google Analytics, video and watch history, data analytics from Vimeo and user watch history from WordPress.

No third party, except to the extent that we are lawfully required to provide that information (i.e. in response to a subpoena, warrant or similar).

How long we retain your data

For users that register on our website (if any), we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information with exception of the password.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

 How we protect your data

AHPAS has SSL certification with regular backups of the WordPress site and plugins. We make efforts to maintain the security of our website. However, we do not guarantee the security of the website, our records, or your content. 

What data breach procedures we have in place

In the event that the site’s security is breached, we will notify you within 24 hours, prompting you to change your account details.

What third parties we receive data from

We receive data from Vimeo, Google, Youtube, Zoom, and WooCommerce.

What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data

The site analyses user behaviour which suggests content based on the users prior engagement. Different user types are created and optimised according to their registration.
